🎨 How to color it

Color the strawberry bright berry red, the leafy top grass green, the short stem light brown, and the teardrop seeds sunny yellow. Use chunky crayons or washable markers to fill the big fruit first; it is okay if little hands color over the thick black lines. For a sweet surprise, make the bottom of the strawberry a darker red than the top, like it warmed in the sun.

In the soft meadow, Tessa tiptoed after a tiny red berry. “Why are you so plain?” she whispered. The grass smelled wet and sweet.

A moon moth fluttered down, hush-hush, with sleepy gold dust on her wings. She patted the berry: tap, tap, tap. Little yellow dots stayed behind. “So curious children can count kisses from the night,” she said.

Ever since, strawberries wear their dots. Next time you see the big berry, can you find the moth’s gentle taps?
