Every evening, Suri tapped one hoof in the star music courtyard and tried to play the roundest U-note on her little ukulele. Plink-plink, the strings answered, but the sound always slipped away like moonlight on glass. One evening, a gust rolled through the courtyard and lifted the lowest string with a soft thrum.

Because of that, Suri leaned close and heard a tiny voice humming from under the string. Because of that, she loosened the peg and found a silver seed tucked where no one ever looked. “Are you the note?” she whispered.
