Every morning, Ethan brushed dust from the hillside path with his little twig broom. Swish, swish, hush—the path curved past the tree, between the rocks, and back toward the meadow where he liked to sit.

Until one day, the curve sounded hollow. Because of that, Ethan tapped the ground with his broom. Bonk! Because of that, a tree root lifted like a sleepy finger, showing a smooth stone tucked underneath. On it were tiny marks: E-T-H-A-N.

“I was already here,” Ethan whispered. Finally, he set the stone where the path bent, and the wind smelled like grass after rain. Next time you follow the curving trail, see if it seems to know exactly where Ethan belongs.
