🎨 How to color it

Give the fairy’s wings a pale sky blue, her leaf sword a fresh green, the acorn shield a warm brown, and the ladybug a bright red. Use chunky crayons or markers for the big wings and leaf roof, and don’t worry if little hands color over the lines. Add yellow dots to the flag and the mushroom caps so the tree house feels ready for a tiny celebration.

Under the tall flower trumpets, Tavi tapped her leaf sword: tap-tap, hop! She had invented Pebble-Hop and wanted every garden friend to try. The acorn shield smelled woody and sweet in her hand.

A little red beetle whispered, “Me too?” Tavi smiled and touched one pebble, then another, leaving tiny golden mud dots on the beetle’s shell. “Now we can count your hops!” she said. The joy got so big, every ladybug wanted dots to share, and ladybugs have carried them ever since—can you find the first happy hopper?
