🎨 How to color it

Color the bat soft charcoal, the big moon lemon yellow, the clouds pale blue, and the hills grassy green. For toddlers, use chunky crayons and fill the bat’s wide wings first, then dab color into the simple stars. Try making each star a different bright color, like tiny candy lights around the moon.

The story behind this coloring page

Nico’s Moonbeam Race — Every night, Nico zipped over the hills counting moonbeams. “One, two, zoom!” he squeaked, wings whoosh-whoosh in the cool air. Read the full story →

Every night, Nico zipped over the hills counting moonbeams. “One, two, zoom!” he squeaked, wings whoosh-whoosh in the cool air.

Until one night, he made a challenge: touch five stars before the moon hid. But a dry flower patch rustled, crick-crack, with no silver light. Nico shook his wings and sprinkled his saved moon-dust down. Because of that, the flowers lifted. Because of THAT, fireflies woke and lit his path. At last, Nico tapped star five and flew home grinning. Next time you see his wide wings, can you spot the generous glow?
