🎨 How to color it

Layer bone ivory and cool gray through the skeleton, set the gothic arches in smoky charcoal, and make the clover panes deep emerald or ruby. Use sharp pencils for the rib cage, finger bones, and narrow lead lines, coloring from the outer arches inward so your hand avoids smudging finished panes. For a secretive glow, blend pale yellow into the round disc beside the skull and echo tiny touches of that light along the collarbones.

The round pane near the skeleton’s left shoulder catches the eye first, as if it is holding back a moon that does not belong indoors. Around it, the pointed arches climb like a quiet chapel window, their lead lines splitting the night into slivers before Cassian is fully revealed at the center.

He has stood in this stained glass for longer than anyone remembers, ribs bright beneath the dark tracery, hands lowered as though waiting for permission to move. The round pane is the object he keeps closest, because it was cut from the last window of his old observatory. Can you find it beside his shoulder? Cassian calls it his borrowed moon, and on certain evenings it shows him one hidden thing.

Tonight, the secret is tucked among the clover shapes on the right side of the window. Look for the large three-lobed panel near his skull, then the smaller matching one below it. Cassian believes one of them marks the door to a room behind the glass. If you follow the long center line down past his spine and pelvis, you may notice how the panes seem to form a narrow path. He will not step through until the borrowed moon is colored bright enough to open it.
