The story behind this coloring page

Beto’s Bean-Hop Trick — Every afternoon, Beto swept coffee beans across his aunt’s plaza stall and flicked the roundest ones into a chalk circle. He called his new game Bean-Hop: ping, plink, no peeking! Read the full story →

Every afternoon, Beto swept coffee beans across his aunt’s plaza stall and flicked the roundest ones into a chalk circle. He called his new game Bean-Hop: ping, plink, no peeking! He wanted to make the longest hop before the music carts rolled by. Until one day, a gust spun Don Lalo’s striped parade hat into the bean basket with a papery whap.

Because of that, Beto’s best beans bounced everywhere, under stools and into flower pots. Because of THAT, the other children chased them, laughing, while Beto noticed the hat’s brim had split. “Shh,” he said, and traded his secret winning beans for a strip of ribbon at the sewing stall. He tucked the fixed hat back before Don Lalo turned around. Finally, when the drums began, the hat sat proud, and nobody knew why except Beto and one sleepy coffee blossom. Can you spot the place where Bean-Hop might start with a ping, plink, no peeking?
