🎨 How to color it

Color the number 3 buttery yellow, the party hat sky blue with pink stars, and the three cupcakes in vanilla, strawberry, and cherry-red touches. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the big number and blanket squares, then help with the tiny hat dots and sprinkles if needed. Try making each cupcake wrapper a different bright color so the three treats feel like a little parade.

The story behind this coloring page

Kiki’s Star Sprinkle Dash — Every day, Kiki counted three picnic steps: tap the basket, smooth the blanket, set down one, two, three cupcakes. Read the full story →

Every day, Kiki counted three picnic steps: tap the basket, smooth the blanket, set down one, two, three cupcakes. Tucked in her pocket was a tiny sugar star from her very first picnic, sweet and bumpy as sand. She always saved it for last. One windy afternoon, whoosh! The meadow map flipped into the daisies, and the cupcake cart rattled downhill.

Because of that, Kiki chased it past buzzing bees and grass that tickled her toes. Because of THAT, the cupcakes wobbled, and Kiki pressed the little star sprinkle onto the middle one like a shining button. “Hold tight, treats!” she cried. The cart bumped to a stop right on the checked blanket, beside the basket and flowers. Everyone cheered because three cupcakes had arrived, and Kiki knew the meadow was her place. Next time you spot the star, can you guess which cupcake saved the dash?
