🎨 How to color it

Color the big number 5 sea-glass teal, the curling waves bright blue, the smiling sun golden yellow, and the shells peach and lavender. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the large 5 and wave bands, then switch to a sharper crayon tip for the bubbles and tiny shell spirals. Try giving every round spot on the 5 a different beach color, like coral, aqua, sand, and pale purple.

Beside the tidepool strand, Sella lined up her shell basket and whispered, “Five sparkles, please.” The wet sand felt cool under her toes. Plink went one tiny bubble. Plink-plink went two more near a curled snail shell. Sella held very still, counting the bright sounds in her head.

A soft wave rolled in with a shhhh. Instead of washing her shells away, it lifted them into a curvy trail. Then the sea foam made a round, bubbly shape that seemed to smile back at her. “You counted too?” Sella breathed.

The sun glittered on every shell, and Sella clapped once, because her quiet little challenge had become big enough for the whole shore to share. Next time you see the bubbles around the big 5, can you find where the fifth sparkle might have gone?
