Levi counted three bends in the road. He counted five pointy pines. He counted one pebble shaped like a potato. “Any time now,” he whispered. Then a tiny toot came from the quietest pine. Toot-toot! Under its lowest branch sat a wooden whistle, hiding where nobody had looked. Levi blew it once, and the big letters seemed to wiggle with laughter.
