🎨 How to color it

Color the little bat soft lavender, the full moon buttery yellow, the chapel warm gray, and the gravestones pebble blue. Use chunky crayons or markers for the big bat wings and winding path, and don’t worry if the color jumps over the bold lines a little. Try making the moon brightest at the edge near the cloud, as if it is gently lighting the bat’s smile.

The story behind this coloring page

Vesper Finds the Quiet Bell — Under the buttery moon, Vesper flapped to the first bend in the graveyard path and stopped. Read the full story →

Under the buttery moon, Vesper flapped to the first bend in the graveyard path and stopped. He wanted to reach the little chapel before the clouds covered its cross, but the stones leaned like tall, quiet strangers. The night smelled like wet grass and cool dust.

Tap, tap, tap came a tiny sound from under the chapel step. Vesper tucked his wings close and whispered, “I can look.” Beneath the stone was a silver bell, no bigger than an acorn, hidden where nobody stepped. He nudged it with one brave claw. Ting! The sound rolled softly over every grave, and the stones seemed to settle. Ever since, when dusk feels too big, that hill graveyard rings one small ting—can you find the path Vesper followed under the buttery moon?
