🎨 How to color it

Color the big B cherry red, the little b sky blue, the bouncing ball sunny yellow, and the playground arch grass green. Use chunky crayons or markers to fill the wide letters first, then add color to the skinny ladder rungs one at a time. For a fun twist, make each bounce mark under the ball a different color, like a tiny rainbow hop.

The story behind this coloring page

Bex’s Bounce-Back Secret — Behind the sandbox, Bex pressed a finger to their lips. “Secret game,” they whispered. Read the full story →

Behind the sandbox, Bex pressed a finger to their lips. “Secret game,” they whispered. The rule was easy: bounce the ball, say a B word, and tap the big letter before anyone heard. Bump! “Boat.” Bump! “Berry.” Then the ball bonked away, past the slide, under the tall climbing arch.

Bex’s shoes crunched over wood chips. The arch looked big and ribby overhead, and the slide smelled hot like sunshine. Bex wished the ball would roll back by itself, but it only wobbled beside a little letter. So Bex took three brave steps, scooped it up, and bounced it once. “Brave,” Bex whispered, grinning. Next time you spot the ball by the big B, you’ll know the secret word too.
