🎨 How to color it

Give the three jellyfish soft peach, aqua, and lavender bells, with lemon-yellow bubbles, mint seaweed, and coral-pink reef branches. Use sharp colored pencils for the many narrow tentacles, following each wavy strand from the bell downward so the lines stay clear. Try a pale blue current behind the group, then make the tiny smiling bubbles glow with a lighter center.

The story behind this coloring page

Sona Opens the Whisper Shell — Under the shell grotto, Sona carried a small striped shell tucked beneath her bell. Read the full story →

Under the shell grotto, Sona carried a small striped shell tucked beneath her bell. It clicked softly whenever the water moved, tik-tik, tik-tik, and she wanted to hear the hidden third click her mother had promised. But that evening the currents went still. Seaweed hung like sleepy ribbon, bubbles stopped climbing, and every jellyfish drifted in place.

Sona’s tentacles trembled. The shell was only the size of a sand dollar, but it felt heavy as a moon. From inside came one tiny sound: tik. Then silence. “Open,” whispered a crab from the dark lip of the grotto. Sona pressed the shell’s ridges apart.

A cool spiral of water slipped out, smelling of salt and rain. It curled around her tentacles, tugged three smiling bubbles upward, and set the whole grotto swaying. Ever since that night, jellyfish have long, ribboning tentacles to comb the shy currents awake. If you spot the little striped shell below them, you may hear it clicking: tik-tik, tik-tik.
